EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-informed approach that helps the brain process experiences that feel overwhelming or stuck. EMDR can reduce the emotional intensity of distressing memories and support healing from trauma, anxiety, and difficult life experiences. This approach does not require detailed retelling of past events and moves at a pace that feels safe and client-led.~50 minutes

A 80-minute EMDR session offers a more spacious and clinically effective container for trauma processing compared to the traditional 50-minute format. EMDR work involves accessing and reprocessing deeply held memories, which can take time to prepare, activate, desensitize, meaningfully integrate, and closure —key components of safe and effective EMDR—supporting both clinical outcomes and client stability between sessions. With a longer session, there is reduced pressure to “pause” processing due to time constraints, allowing the nervous system to process and return to regulation within the same appointment.

I believe finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of the therapeutic process. Along with my professional training, I bring lived experience to my work. I have been in sober for over 12 years and have personally navigated five diagnosed mental health conditions. I like to think those experiences can show that recovery IS possible.
While my experiences are not the same as yours, they help me approach therapy with empathy, authenticity, and hope. I combine lived experience with evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, and ACT, tailoring therapy to your unique goals, values, and circumstances. My aim is to create a space where you can be yourself, feel genuinely understood, and work towards meaningful, lasting change.
